Special Educational Needs
Supporting Children with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities
At Norton St Nicholas School we believe that all children should be supported so they can prosper and flourish in their education and in their lives. When children have special educational needs or disabilities, we have a range of support in place for both children and their families.
SEN Policy
Our SEN policy outlines how we meet the needs of children with special educational needs and disabilities. It includes approaches, staff expertise and interventions that are available to pupils.
SEN Information Report
The SEN Information Report is a document that all schools are required to publish on their school website. This report contains information about how we put our policy for pupils with SEN into action. It answers a range of questions that parents may have about how we support children and their families. You can open this document as a PDF or find it on the linked page below.

Accessibility Plan
Schools are required under the Equality Act 2010 to have an accessibility plan. The purpose of the plan is to:
- Increase the extent to which disabled pupils can participate in the curriculum
- Improve the physical environment of the school to enable disabled pupils to take better advantage of education, benefits, facilities and services provided
- Improve the availability of accessible information to disabled pupils
